Respiratory diseases in children in the Moravian-Silesian Region (Czech Republic) in comparison with results of the national monitoring

In 2015 a prevalence study of respiratory diseases in children in the Moravian-Silesian Region (Czech Republic) was carried out in 18 towns by the National Institute of Public Health in cooperation with 73 GPs for children and adolescents. The sample consisted of 7519 children aged 5, 9, 13 and 17 years. The prevalence of all medically diagnosed allergic diseases and asthma was 29.5% and 11.2% respectively. The results were compared with nationwide monitoring of allergies and respiratory diseases in 2016. Evaluation of the occupational stress of nurses working in central and operating theater sterilization units

The work of nurses working in central and operation theater sterilization units has an irreplaceable role in the preparation of sterile medical devices used in health care. Nurses working in this section are exposed to a number of risk factors that can affect them both physically and mentally. The aim of the research was to find out how nurses working in the central and suction sterilization sections subjectively assess their physical and mental working environment and their workload. Subjective health self-assessment in students of selected universities

A healthy population means a healthy workforce and therefore it is important pay attention to the development of the health status of the population and then respond to the information found. The subjective evaluation of health evolves from one's approach to lifestyle or the actual state of mental and physical well-being. The aim of the questionnaire survey was to find out, among other things, the actual subjective state of health in students of selected universities.
