Two Recollections from the History of the Public Health Service

The author brings forth recollections on the activities of the Public Health Service in years past. Mentioned is the effort in the protection of health and the environment in the vicinity of a rock and soil dump for the uncovering of a large opencast coalmine, and the initial days of poliomyelitis vaccination with the Salk vaccine and then with the Sabin vaccine.
