The world highest incidence of kidney carcinoma in both sexes is found in the Czech Republic. In a case control study there were evaluated selected risk factors of kidney carcinoma in a group of patients from Olomouc and České Budějovice. The series consisted of 635 people, 300 kidney carcinoma cases and 335 controls. A connection between level of education was found, subjects with elementary school education had OR=1.48 as compared to the university educated as regards, subject's abode, those with domicile of 100,000 or more inhabitants had higher risk compared to subjects living in villages with 1,000 or less inhabitants, had OR=1.73.
