Allergic Diseases in Context of the Programme "Health for All in the 21st Century"

The aim of the project was to introduce an Allergy-Card as part of preventive medical examinations of children. This card could assist early recognition, diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases and lifestyle modification. The main goal of the project was to reduce problems associated with allergies and to fulfill certain aims of the Programme "Health for all in the 21st Century". Part of this project was a prevalence study of the child population in Chrudim. All children of up to age 17 years were included (2853 girls and 3009 boys). We recorded a total of 25% males and 23,3% females with allergies in this group. The results of this study were used as Goal No. 8 in the "Health for all in the 21st Century" in the Pardubice region.
